Fortune
Fortune are the latest hot property on the French electro scene. A four piece from Paris (Herve, Pierrick) and Morlaix, Britany (Lionel, Tepr), they have a sharp electronic focus, pitching somewhere between the mellow indie rock of Phoenix and the more skewed funk of post-rave, Afro-pop outfit, Plugs. Main man Lionel Perres and Tepr were the founding members of Abstrakt Keal Agram, who were signed to Gooom Records (home to M83). TEPR's kick ass club jam sound mixes funk, house, electro, boogie, and hip-hop, and has been slammed all over the world. Live, Fortune go out as 2 guitars, synth and bass. In TEPR’s own words, Fortune’s first EP is “an example of beautiful songwriting producing a sound that falls between Ratatat and Daniel Balavoine (famous 80’s french singer), laced with awesome melodies like those of Grandaddy or Phoenix.”
