Just Handshakes (we're British) are from Leeds and play the sort of charming old school girl-fronted indie pop music which nods at Liz Cocteau and Let's Buy Happiness while earning them respect from nice radio people like Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Marc Riley and support slots with nice bands such as Mystery Jets, Still Corners and Pete & The Pirates. They have just finished recording their debut album with Matt Peel (The Crookes) and, happily, they list their interests as "Gin, Sweden and Taxidermy".
