Son Of King Rebel
Son Of King Rebel are a London-based five-piece, whose constituent members hail from Northern England, the South West and North Wales. The name comes from singer and main songwriter Jeremy Allen's much-missed old man, who was something of a hellraiser back in the 50's and 60's on the roads of leafy Cornwall. Jeremy has performed or recorded with a host of contemporary musicians including UK hip hop MCs Lethal Bizzle and Akira the Don, world music chanteuse Bishi and ex-Boo Radleys songwriter Martin Carr. Toby Bradshaw on bass also played with Carr's Bravecaptain, while drummer Rob Hyde hit things for Mum & Dad and Bane Overlord. Guitarist Jim Harrison (Akira the Don) and Paul Fisher, with his evocative cornet, complete the line-up. "When we came to write these songs," says Jeremy, "I had Tom Waits in my head, but it came out sounding more like Supertramp."
