The Racketears are a 5-piece from Colwyn Bay (in North Wales, fact fans). They've been playing together for nearly a year, although have been writing songs for nearer six. They don't have too many gigs under their belt, but already their songs are sounding a tight as seasoned professionals. They've got a synth but don't sound 'nu-rave', they have guitars but don't sound rock. This is great pop music from construction to production. 'Spin! Spin! Hamster' wouldn't sound out of place on the soundtrack to the next US indie kid flick. Anti-establishment lyrics have their tongue firmly in cheek and with a little wink they flirt over the combination of bouncing keys and sharp guitars. You can download it for free from their Myspace.
