The Brute Chorus
The Brute Chorus are quiffed and moustachioed Vicar’s son James Steel (Vocals, Guitar and Harmonica), Cumbrian Nick Foots (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard and Stuff), Hampshire country boy and son of a Dylan-fanatic Mark Austin (Vocals, Drums and Percussion), and Essex born Dave Ferrett (Vocals, Bass). The band all live together in Whitechapel, East London. Love, religion, fables, mythical beasts and the odd Greek Tragedy – they’re all here. The Brute Chorus blend a writhing mix of pop, circus burlesque and, most noticeably, rockabilly that you will not be able to stop tapping your toes to. It’s a fairy tale, a fable and a hoe-down! The Brutes recently recorded their second album in a freezing hall in the Lake District. The album‘How the Caged Bird Sings’ will be released very soon.
