The Eye Jab are a 5-piece Newcastle based band, solely, creating a sound that they enjoy. Their influences lie so far apart on the musical map that it is tough to sit them anywhere. The music has the complexity of a Sparks song, the beauty of The Smiths, the robust vigor of The Smashing Pumpkins and the glimmers of sophisticated pop that are so frequently caught in a Radiohead or Pulp album. They take a large conceptual sway from all of the aforementioned bands, yet do not sound startlingly like any. Their countryside rehearsal-room/escape, nestled in deepest nowhere, also provides a lot of inspiration, but their rural surroundings have not marred the sullied beauty in their work. The Eye Jab are living proof that you don't need to dwell neck deep in the dirty squalor of the big city to produce marvelous pop tunes.
