It Hugs Back met at school aged just 11. The three youngsters finally founded their band in 2005 and soon received radioplay for their self-recorded demos, as well as garnering high praise for a series of low-key appearances. Their delicate, folksy music has drawn comparisons to Wilco, The Lemonheads, Sebadoh and the softer works of Sonic Youth. They released debut single 'Lights In The Trees' on Tigertrap Records and since then a whole slew of records have followed including a box set of the first three singles. The band are now signed to 4AD.
